Separation Agreement

Separation Agreement

$1,199.00 +HST

We believe in rewarding people who are reasonable during divorce.  Our separation agreements are provided at a low rate for couples who are separated and have agreed as to the terms of the agreement in relation to all issues, including division of assets, support, custody, access and child support.  Where parties cannot agree, we charge a reduced fee of $200.00 per hour to negotiate the terms with your partner or their lawyer.

In this package:

  • A solicitor-client relationship is created - this means a lawyer will be helping you throughout the process.

  • The agreement will include all provisions pertaining to custody, access, child support, spousal support, division of assets, sale of property and all related matters to separation

  • You will virtually meet with a lawyer who will explain your rights under the Ontario Family Law Act and the effects of the agreement.

  • After the consultation, your lawyer will draft the agreement based on your instructions.  A copy will be forwarded to you for review.  Minor changes will be made with no additional fees.

  • We will assist you in the execution of the agreement either virtually or in person based on your preference.

  • Multiple copies will be provided for parties and respective lawyers.

  • All commissioning and notarization fees are included.

  • A Certificate of Independent Legal Advice will be provided.

  • Your partner will then be able to take copies of the agreement to their lawyer to execute and receive their certificate of independent legal advise.

We provide a flat fee of $1,199.00+HST for this service to be paid prior to drafting of your agreement.
