Marriage Contract (Prenuptial Agreement)

$850.00 +hst

Our marriage contracts are professionally drafted by a lawyer based on each client's specific needs. Your financial and personal circumstance is unique, which is why we do not draft generic contracts.

Marriage contracts allow you to create various structures for spousal support, business assets, property ownership, debts, loans and other financial dealings throughout marriage. An experienced lawyer will meet with you to develop the best structure for you. We are happy to answer your questions in our free phone consultations.

In this package:

  • A solicitor-client relationship is created - this means a lawyer will be helping you

  • You will meet with a lawyer who will explain matrimonial laws in Ontario and how they apply to marriages.  You will then be provided with various options that you and your partner can utilize in your marriage contract.

  • After the consultation, you will speak with your partner and provide us with your instructions on the terms you want to include in the contract.

  • We will then draft your marriage contract.

  • A sworn financial statement will be completed by you

  • Commissioning of documents are included in this service.

  • Certificate of Independent Legal Advice is included.

  • You may sign documents virtually or in person

  • You will receive extra copies of the contract for all parties and respective lawyers.

  • Your partner will then be able to take copies of the agreement to their lawyer to execute and receive their certificate of independent legal advice as well.

Appointments may be made via e-mail, by text or by calling us at (416) 939-5922.

The payment is due before we commence drafting the documents.  The flat fee covers everything except courier fees.  Courier fees do not apply if you elect to pick-up the documents from our office.
