Independent Legal Advice

Independent Legal Advice

If your partner and their lawyer have drafted an agreement, we are able to provide you with independent legal advice.  You simply need to:

  • Email us a copy of the agreement

  • Make an appoint to review the agreement with us, and

  • Make the payment of $350 +HST prior to our meeting (using e-transfer or via PayPal using the link below)

  • You must bring 4 copies of the agreement to the meeting.  They will be provided to you by your partner's lawyer.

You will meet with an experience lawyer who will explain your legal rights, the terms of the agreement and discuss the consequences of signing the agreement.   If after receiving and understanding your rights you wish to execute the agreement, we will assist you in doing so.  You will also be provided with a certificate of independent legal advice to be attached to the agreements before a copy is returned to your partner.

What is included in this service:

  • Review of your agreement

  • One (1) hour consultation where you will meet with your lawyer

  • Legal advice as to the terms of the agreement and proposed changes, if any

  • Four  (4) copies of the certificate of independent legal advice

  • Email and telephone calls between solicitor and client

You can make an appointment via email or by calling us at (416) 939-5922.
